रोक ले अश्क़ मेरे, के न
बाह जाए साथ इनके, आँखों से मेरी।
रोक ले आज इन्हें, के
रह पाये उम्रभर निगाहों में मेरी।
थाम दामन में इन्हें, के
है इनमें ही तू।

रह पायेगा उम्रभर डूबकर इनमें,
होगी ग़र इन आँखों में वही झील सी नमी।
थाम ले आज इन्हें, के
न बह जायें अश्क़ आँखों से सभी।
रोक ले आज इन्हें, के
रह पाये निगाहों में मेरी तू ।

लौटता नहीं बह जाए सैलाबों में जो,
लौट भी आयें ग़र सैलाब वही।
रोक ले आज…
थाम बढ़के इन्हें, के
चल निकला है साथ इन सैलाबों के ही तू।    

They lie too deep

Thoughts oh so fragile,
from deep within
surface unbeckoned
at unsaid times.
Like effervescence,
oh! hard to hold!
so out of reach,
can't try and touch!
